American Chiropractic Association Sports Council

 

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) Council on Sports Injuries and Physical Fitness is a professional and educational non-profit organization that attracts doctors from across the U.S. and around the world, who desire to become more directly involved with developing and promoting the treatment of athletes.

The Sports Council works closely with athletic organizations, as well as allied health professionals, to promote better understanding of the value of chiropractic care in athletic training and treatment.

Dr. Santiago has been an active ACA member for many years and served as Presidential Advisor to George Bush and was named the 1993 Sports Chiropractor of the Year.

Association of New Jersey Chiropractors (ANJC)

 

Dr. Santiago is a member of the Association of NJ Chiropractors since it was formed in 2004. Prior to that, he was an active member and served on the Board of Directors of the Chiropractic Society of New Jersey.

The International Federation of Sports Chiropractic / Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS)



Dr. Santiago has recently been appointed to serve as the Secretary General of the FICS organization. The International Federation of Sports Chiropractic / Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS) was founded in 1987 at a meeting of national sports chiropractic leaders held in London, England, and has represented sports chiropractic on an international basis since that time.
FICS is comprised of national chiropractic sports councils worldwide and individual members, and has affiliations with international organizations within the chiropractic profession and the world of sports. The vision of FICS is: “Empowering Athletes to Maximal Performance…Naturally”

County College of Morris

 

Appointed for an unprecedented three terms, by three Governors of the State of NJ, Dr. Santiago has served on the Board of Directors for the County College of Morris for the past 12 years. During his tenure on the Board, he has served in the capacity of Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer.

Dr. Santiago was instrumental in the development of Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers, Inc. In an ongoing effort to make Morris County a safer place to live, citizens who have information relating to crimes, criminal activity or wanted persons (fugitives) can call  Crime Stoppers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Crime Stoppers offers the citizens of Morris County direct and easy access to their law enforcement community with the added incentives of reward and anonymity.

New York Chiropractic College

 

As a 1978 Graduate of New York Chiropractic College, no alumnus is more involved than Dr. Santiago. Dr. Santiago has served as an Associate Professor: Post Graduate Division and as Chairman: Department of Sports Medicine since 1981. He also has participated as a lecturer at NYCC Alumni Day and at other NYCC events. He is one alumnus who can always be counted on when called to any tupe of duty at his chiropractic college alma mater.

Police Athletic League 

 

Since 1965, the Parsippany PAL has been working hard to provide the children of Parsippany with various activities and sports programs. Beginning with only 240 children registered in three programs, the Parsippany PAL has grown to serve more than 4,000 children from Parsippany and the surrounding area with over 15 programs.

United States Olympic Committee

 

In addition to being named the first chiropractor on the US Olympic Team’s Medical Staff, Dr. Santiago was also invited to serve as a member of the US Olympic Committee’s Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. In this capacity, Dr. Santiago played a pivotal role in addressing the medical care, health maintenance and performance enhancement of the USA’s top athletes.

Lakeland Hills Family YMCA
